Spotting hazards
A hazard is anything that might require you to change speed or direction. Spotting them early is what separates a comfortable drive from a series of near misses.
Look for the ones that repeat: a bus stopped ahead means pedestrians stepping out; a parked vehicle means a door opening; a ball in the road means a child behind it; a wet patch under a bend means less grip.
The riskiest conditions are the predictable ones - rain and fog, night, a steep descent, a blind bend, a crowded market street. Slow down before you reach them rather than in them.
If you cannot see, assume something is there.
