Who goes first
Right of way is given, not taken. When two vehicles have a claim, the rule decides - and if the other driver takes it anyway, let them.
Emergency vehicles come first. An ambulance, a fire engine and a hearse must be given way; pull to the side and let them through.
At a zebra crossing, pedestrians go first. On a narrow hill road, the vehicle coming uphill goes first. At a roundabout, give way to traffic already on it.
Where a junction is unmarked and nobody has priority, the safe move is to give it away rather than to insist on it.
